Why is a sex toy party more than just a sex toy party?

I was reading a discussion the other day on a forum about “who has been to one of those parties?” and the variety of responses surprised me. Some would “rather sit at home and watch the grass grow” whilst some thought “it was THE BEST fun ever. Just a crack up.
